Hye-Eli Episode 006 - Huberta Von Voss

Hye-Eli is interviewing a German lady this week, Huberta Von Voss. I heard of Huberta through our friend Nouritza Matossian and I knew I had to interview her. I was intrigued by this German lady who has compiled, with her perseverance and will, a book named Portraits of Hope - Armenians in the Contemporary World

It is an extremely interesting and well thought out book depicting today’s Armenians through essays/articles written by Huberta and a group of contributors worldwide (without whom Huberta couldn’t have compiled this book) on different Armenian individuals around the world, such as the late Hrant Dink, Atom Egoyan, and others who are not well known such as Accordion-player Madame Anahit on the Alleys of Beyoglu (Istanbul).

The book is divided into three sections. The first deals with Armenian history, especially the Armenian Genocide. The second deals with Armenians in the Diaspora, and the third section deals with places important to the memory of Armenians.

A must read!!

ps Due to technical problems, we were not able to feature Aravod Ensemble today. Stay tuned for Aravod in the next couple of weeks.
